DAIKICHI

This particular project involved an extensive conversion from an existing retail store to a Japanese restaurant. Early coordination works were conducted between the builder, strata and Zouk Architects to ensure the premises is fit for purpose in terms of services and fit out budget. The simplistic approach in space planning enabled the restaurant to be open up visually as a whole with minimal separation for storages and back of house servicing. The dining floor is flanked one side with pine walling which appeared to be "carved" out in sections to create recesses for wording and graphic. Strong color was used on the other side of the dining floor to create a visual distinction from the street where foot traffic is mostly anticipated.
