COURTYARD HOUSE
The Courtyard House has been conceived as a series of “planar” elements which reflects the horizontality of the surrounding coastal environment. Hovering roofing provides part shelters to an expansive decking area on upper level and a secluded internal courtyard space on ground level.
The in/out spaces are defined by series of operable doors, louvers and skylight which promote natural ventilation, sunlight and visual connectivity. Richness in materiality is achieved by composition of calsil silicate facebrick & dark stained Western Red Cedar carpentry, which has been heavily utilized throughout the dwelling.
