This finely tuned dwelling capitalizes the outlook of its expansive coastal environment. In response to its sloping site, the floor plates have been terraced into multi level spaces with fenestrations carefully placed to relate to the natural environment. The main living space is designed as a transparent pavilion with a deep overhanged concrete roof which has a floating effect with its perimeter highlight glazing.
Beneath it, a generous double volume space nestles next to an elongated sunken light well, landscaped with lush climbers. This space is highly flexible in promoting cross ventilation and natural sunlight to the centre of the dwelling with its banks of automated louvers and expansive sliding doors. Finally, a simplistic yet monumental facade punctuates the streetscape, designed in response to its adjoining curved retaining wall and coincidental orientation to the Little Bay cove.
