The design principal of this project derived from a central atrium planned to span across the dwelling and act as the circulation core of the dwelling. Visitors are greeted with a reflection pond in the entry court which extended to the interior of foyer to create an illusion in spatial continuity. Open stairwells are arranged along this atrium with the descending staircase leading to the lower ground's lap pool. The central atrium also designed as an aperture to emit natural sunlight to the deep floor plates in the form of a series of skylights, this subsequently reduce the need for openings to side of dwelling which would compromise the privacy from neighboring buildings. The façade's fenestrations have been designed with custom framing and vertical slits to evoke a sense of oriental motives.
